I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website. Friends From Ireland is a not for profit organisation and is run totally by volunteers. We have no employees and focus on getting maximum benefit from every Euro raised. Our projects have offered support to some of the most disadvantaged communities in Kenya, Namibia and Lesotho. We believe that cornerstone community facilities such as clinics, schools and libraries are crucial to development. Our projects are carried out in partnership with our host communities and are based on informed and collective pre-project processes that ensure success.
In addition, we prioritise sustainable activities that will continue to effect change long after we have left.
The support we receive at home and abroad fuels our determination to keep our projects going. We have seen how they have had life-changing results in areas where support rarely reaches. Our model is simple but effective. We source and pay directly for all our materials which in many cases are supplied by local traders who support our work. Our volunteers help fund the projects themselves and are actively involved in completing them.
Your support is essential to Friends From Ireland projects. If you have ever thought about volunteering and are up for a challenge, a real challenge, then you may have found what you have been looking for. If you become involved you will meet people you will remember for the rest of your life and you will have the chance to do what many never achieve, a chance to make a difference, an actual difference.
